Dr. Kipervas Laser and Cosmetic Center
During your treatment, the gentle handpiece emits a gentle beam of light that passes through the skin to the targeted hair follicle where it is absorbed. The laser energy is transformed into heat, which destroys the hair follicle without damaging the delicate pores or structures of the skin. Most visible hairs vanish immediately. Over a period of 10 to 14 days, the remaining hair disappears.
The procedure can take as little as 10 to 15 minutes depending on the area treated. Facial, underarms, and bikini areas can be completed in a series of 15 minute sessions. Legs, backs and larger areas can take one to two hours.

Pre-procedure:
1 Avoid deep tanning (tanning beds, tanning creams) at least 2 weeks before and after your treatment. If you must go in the sun use a sunscreen SPF 30 or higher.
2. It is not necessary to shave prior to coming in for treatment. We do recommend that you shave the area 1-2 days prior to your treatment.
3. It is recommended that you stop bleaching 2-3 weeks before your procedure.
4. It is best that you refrain from tweezing or waxing at least 2 weeks prior the procedure. Shaving or trimming Post-procedure:
1. Immediately after treatment, there should be redness and bumps at the treatment site, which may last up to 2 hours or longer. It is normal for the treated area to feel like sunburn for a few hours. You may use a cold compress if needed.
2. Makeup may be used after treatment, just make sure that you have moisturizer on under your makeup. In fact, a moisturizer will help the dead hair exfoliate from the follicle, so use moisturizer frequently and freely on treated areas. Any moisturizer without alpha-hydroxy acids or an oil base is good.
3. Avoid sun exposure to reduce the chance of dark or light spots. Use sunscreen SPF 30 or greater at all times throughout the course of treatment.
4. Do not use any other hair removal methods or products on treated area during the course of your laser treatments(tweezing, waxing and depilatories), as it will prevent you from achieving your best results.

Q. What Body Areas Can I Get Treated?
A. Any area, except around the eyes. The underarms, legs, back, bikini line, face, neck, etc., can all be treated ... fast!
Q. What Are the Treatment Sessions Like?
A. Quick and easy! After your initial preparation, your treatment provider will move a wand-like handpiece over your skin. The handpiece emits a light that disabled the hair follicles. Most people perceive the light as a gentle "snapping" sensation. Once this is completed, the treatment provider will wipe away any loose hair from your skin, and you're ready to go.
Q. What Should Most People Expect After Treatment?
A. Most people experience some mild redness and tenderness in the treated area shortly after treatment. This does not interfere with normal activities and usually subsides within a day. In some cases, the redness may last longer, but will still be mild and temporary. Your treatment provider will explain other, less likely side effects to you.
Q. Who Performs the Treatment?
A. Treatment is performed by our cosmetologist who is also a trained laser technician.
Q. How many treatments do I need?
A. Several, depending on your skin type.
