Dr. Kipervas Laser and Cosmetic Center
A PhotoFacial involves a series of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments that improve the appearance of rosacea, flushing and sun-damaged skin, age spots, skin texture, mild acne scars, and photo aging. It also reduces large pores, corrects dark circles around the eyes, and reduces fine lines.
A laser beam is applied to the treatment area as a series of gentle pulses. Without any damage to the skin, the light penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the abnormally dilated vessels or pigmentation. Heat then impairs the targeted vessels or lesions, and the body begins a natural healing process. Lesions darken before they flake off or are absorbed by the body.
Pre-procedure:
Remove all make-up and limit sun exposure 2-3 weeks before your treatment.
Post-procedure:
Limit sun exposure for 2 weeks after treatment. If you must be in the sun, use a sun-block lotion with SPF 30 or higher.
